Installing WordPress on your Pakalfa hosting account is quick and easy when you use Softaculous, the automatic installer included in cPanel. You do not need to download WordPress files or create a database manually — Softaculous does that work for you. Follow the steps below.
Before you begin
Make sure your domain is pointed to your Pakalfa hosting. If you have just registered or transferred a domain, allow a little time for it to be connected to your hosting account before you start the installation.
Step 1: Log in to your Pakalfa client area and open cPanel
Log in to your Pakalfa client area at billing.pakalfa.com, go to your hosting service, and open cPanel. This is where you will manage your website, email, databases, and files.
Step 2: Open Softaculous Apps Installer
In cPanel, find the Softaculous Apps Installer section and click on it. You will see a list of popular applications, including WordPress.
Step 3: Choose WordPress
Click on WordPress in Softaculous, then click Install. This opens the WordPress installation settings page.
Step 4: Pick the domain
Choose the domain where you want WordPress installed from the domain dropdown. Leave the directory field empty if you want WordPress on your main domain, for example yourdomain.com. Only enter a directory name if you want WordPress in a subfolder, for example yourdomain.com/blog.
Step 5: Set the site name and description
Enter your site name, for example the name of your business or blog, and a short site description or tagline that explains what your site is about. You can change both of these later from the WordPress dashboard.
Step 6: Create a strong admin username and password
Create an admin username and a strong password. Never use “admin” as your username, because it is the first username attackers try. Use a unique username and a long password with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols, and store it somewhere safe. Also enter a real admin email address, so you can reset your password if needed.
Step 7: Install WordPress
Review your settings and click Install. Softaculous will create the database, upload the WordPress files, and set everything up. This usually takes only a minute or two.
Step 8: Log in to your new WordPress site
When the installation is finished, Softaculous will show you your site address and a link to your WordPress dashboard. Log in at yourdomain.com/wp-admin using the admin username and password you created in Step 6. From there you can choose a theme, add pages and posts, and install plugins.
Troubleshooting: Installation fails
If the installation fails, first check that your domain is pointed to Pakalfa nameservers/hosting first. If the domain is still pointing to another host, or DNS has not yet updated, Softaculous may not be able to complete the installation for that domain. Wait for DNS to update, confirm the domain is connected to your Pakalfa hosting in cPanel, and try the installation again.
