FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, lets you upload, download, and manage files on your hosting account from your own computer. FileZilla is a free and widely used FTP program. This guide shows you how to connect it to your Pakalfa hosting account.
Step 1: Log in to your Pakalfa client area and open cPanel
Log in to your Pakalfa client area at billing.pakalfa.com, go to your hosting service, and open cPanel.
Step 2: Create or confirm an FTP account in cPanel
In cPanel, open FTP Accounts. You can use your main cPanel FTP account, or create a separate FTP account for a specific folder. If you create a new account, choose a username, set a strong password, choose the directory it can access, and set a quota if needed, then click Create FTP Account. Note down the username and password.
Step 3: Open FileZilla
Download and install FileZilla from its official website if you do not already have it, then open it on your computer.
Step 4: Enter your connection details
In the Quickconnect bar at the top of FileZilla, enter the host shown in cPanel, your FTP username, and your FTP password. For the port, enter 21, or the port shown in cPanel if cPanel shows a different port for your account. If a host or port shown in your own cPanel differs from this guide, use the value shown in your own cPanel.
Step 5: Connect
Click Quickconnect. FileZilla will connect to your hosting account. The left side shows files on your computer, and the right side shows files on your hosting account. If the connection fails, double-check the host, username, password, and port, and make sure you have typed them exactly as shown in cPanel.
Step 6: Upload files to public_html
On the right side, open the public_html folder. This is the folder for your main website files — files placed here are what visitors see when they visit your domain. Drag files from your computer on the left into public_html on the right to upload them. Wait for the transfer to finish before closing FileZilla or disconnecting.
Important security warning
Never share your FTP credentials with anyone you do not trust, and never post them in a public forum, chat, or support ticket. FTP credentials give full access to your website files. If you think they have been shared or exposed, change the FTP password in cPanel straight away.
